Holiday Reviews

A Slice of Ham

LOS ANGELES, CA - One of the brightest ornaments of this season is Varla Jean Merman's Holiday Ham.  Tired of waiting for the networks to produce her Holiday Special, Varla, the illegitimate daughter of Ethel Merman and Ernest Borgnine, has put together her own festive stage show.

Holiday Ham mixes video segments with frighteningly talented live musical numbers including a special guest appearance of Maggie Moore as Ann-Margret. Varla has sing-a-longs, she gives out door prizes, she changes costume on stage, and you won't believe the things Varla does with cheese. -  R.  Bah Humbug!

From the moment you step inside The Glendale Centre Theatre, you're taken back to England 1846.  The Christmas Carol is the longstanding jewel in the crown of GCT's productions.  Charles Dicken's classic story of regret and renewal comes alive with lavish production values and traditional Christmas music.  This family oriented production is a great way to get into the spirit of the season. - R. Harker
